So, things don’t always go to plan.
This box was supposed to be beautiful sheets of plywood, nice and smooth, with vibrant hardwood edges all the way around, and finally with a nice tight, but not too tight, slip fit lid.
Instead, I now have a mostly square shaped box of orange ply with sanded and scratched faces, gaps in the inlays, and mismatched sized hardwood edges.
Well, ok, that makes it sound worse than it is. And truth be told, I still quite like the overall shape and look of this box, it’s just that the quality of finish isn’t there. I made mistakes on this one. Partly by skipping steps or assuming that things would turn out ok, and also partly by inexperience.
But the great thing is I learnt heaps of off this box, so it wasn’t a loss at all, in fact, I probably learnt more from this one than the previous 3 boxes combined.
Check it out and let me know what you think. 👍
